Starting with a simple sketch plan in mid-2017 and an unwavering commitment to a contemporary interior design vision, a+ design group is proud to have been entrusted with the re-positioning of Hilton Sydney, which recently re-opened to guests.
Our scope included the refurbishment of all 587 rooms and suites, including the creation of 8 new rooms through the conversion of 4 existing 3-bay King Suites. We were also asked to design the upgrade to Caffe Cino and the Lobby Lounge. This followed our refresh of Glass Restaurant in 2018.
The key to the room design was recognising how guests work today; we started by removing the traditional desk setup which occupied a massive 25% of the carpeted area of the room. In its place, we replaced it with an oversized, signature Italian armchair & ottoman, coupled with a custom table which guests could work or dine at.
We also designed a narrow console table below the TV guests who preferred to spread out when they work. Apart from the armchair & ottoman, all furniture and joinery items are bespoke.
